UConn, Tamika Williams-Jeter set for reunion

During Tamika Williams-Jeter’s recruiting process in the mid-1990s, she got plenty of flashy pitches. Ohio State sent a private jet to pick her up — from Dayton, Ohio, which is only an hour drive from Columbus. Other schools told her what they thought she’d want to hear.

“I could say, ‘Hey, I want to start at point guard,’ (and coaches would reply) ‘Oh yeah, you could start at point,’” Williams-Jeter said on the CT Scoreboard Podcast.

Geno Auriemma used a different tactic.
