Geno Auriemma nearly learned who Kaitlyn Chen was the hard way.

During her junior year, her Princeton team traveled to Gampel Pavilion to take on UConn in a December contest. The Tigers nearly pulled off the upset — the Huskies barely won after Nika Mühl and Lou Lopez Sénéchal went out with injuries — in large part because of Chen.

She had 18 points and seven assists that night, but that’s not what impressed Auriemma.
