'Everything fit': How Kaitlyn Chen ended up at UConn

Both sides realized they were a perfect match for each other on a visit to Storrs in April.

Geno Auriemma nearly learned who Kaitlyn Chen was the hard way.

During her junior year, her Princeton team traveled to Gampel Pavilion to take on UConn in a December contest. The Tigers nearly pulled off the upset — the Huskies barely won after Nika Mühl and Lou Lopez Sénéchal went out with injuries — in large part because of Chen.

She had 18 points and seven assists that night, but that’s not what impressed Auriemma.
