Olivia Vukosa does not lack confidence. As she walked into the Werth Champions Center each day during summer workouts, she took note of the program history displayed in seemingly every corner of the building.
The lobby features photos of every member of UConn’s 2025 national championship squad. The front atrium exhibits the greatest players in program history. Every Husky taken in the first round of the WNBA Draft hangs in a hallway that runs parallel to the court. In the gym, one wall is covered with the Huskies’ 12 banners, another lists the Olympic gold medalists and a third showcases all the All-Americans and National Players of the Year who have come through Storrs.
But Vukosa isn’t intimidated by all of that. Just the opposite, in fact.
“I get to walk into Worth every day and see all the faces on the walls and the champions,” she said. “I want to be up here one day, and I know I'm going to be up here.”
The freshman out of Whitestone, New York isn’t delusional, though. Vukosa understands she has a long way to go just to contribute for UConn, let alone perform well enough to end up featured inside the facility one day.
“I knew it was gonna be tough, so I had that mindset coming in,” she said. “It's definitely been hard, but a lot of fun.”
