(Lack of) injury updates
UConn didn’t hold an availability with head coach Geno Auriemma ahead of Wednesday’s contest, so the status of Paige Bueckers (knee sprain), Ice Brady (illness) and Aubrey Griffin (ACL recovery) is unknown.
Bueckers has missed the last two games but will be 10 days out from the injury when the Huskies’ travel to St. John’s. Auriemma said the team was hopeful she’d be back in a week, which would mean a Wednesday return.
Meanwhile, Brady didn’t even travel to UConn’s win at Georgetown on Saturday due to an illness.
As for Griffin, she’s still working towards her season debut. She went down with a torn ACL on Jan. 3, 2024 and is expected back sometime in mid-January.
With any updates from the Auriemma, the status for all three players will likely be revealed close to tip-off.
