UConn celebrates seniors
After UConn walloped Providence 81-38 on Sunday, it honored five players during senior day: Azzi Fudd, Caroline Ducharme, Ice Brady, Ayanna Patterson and Serah Williams. The homegrown players were a group defined by adversity and perseverance as all missed at least one season due to injury.
New program record at stake on Thursday
With a win on Thursday, UConn will set a new program record for conference victories in a single regular season with 19. The Huskies have notched 18 wins in league play on 10 occasions but have never surpassed the mark.
Granted, this is just the second time UConn has ever played 20 conference games. The Huskies were supposed to in 2020-21 and 2021-22, only to have a few contests canceled due to Covid. In 2022-23, they suffered two losses and finished 18-2 in the Big East.
UConn will take on Georgetown at 7 p.m. ET from PeoplesBank Arena.
