At the moment, UConn doesn’t have a commitment in the class of 2027, though the coaching staff is working to change that.

Recently, Geno Auriemma, Morgan Valley and Nykesha Sales paid a home visit to Ivanna Wilson Manyacka, the No. 2 prospect in the class of 2027. She posted a photo with the staff on her Instagram.

Meanwhile, the Huskies landed in the top six for Sydney Savoury, the No. 9 recruit in 2027, and will host her on an official visit on Oct. 23, according to ESPN’s Shane Laflin.

A 6-2 wing out of Frederick, Maryland, Wilson Manyacka picked up an offer from the Huskies last summer and took an unofficial visit to campus during the 2023-24 season as well. She has not released a list of finalists but has drawn interest from the likes of South Carolina, USC, LSU and Notre Dame.

Meanwhile, Savoury is a 5-11 guard out of Michigan who received an offer from UConn back in May. North Carolina, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and Texas are the other finalists.

Elsewhere in the class of 2027, UConn has been connected to Kaleena Smith (No. 1) and Haylen Ayers (No. 8). For the following year, the Huskies offered Chloe Johnson, the second-ranked recruit in the class of 2028.

On early Thursday morning (30 minutes after this story is scheduled to post), Paige Bueckers, Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart and the rest of Team USA will square off against Dorka Juhász’s Hungary squad in the World Cup quarterfinals.

The US went 3-0 in group play, though it barely staved off an upset bid from Italy with a three-point victory in its second contest. Hungary, meanwhile, finished second in Group B with a 2-1 record then defeated Japan in the qualification round to advance to the quarterfinals.

Juhász has put together a strong tournament so far, averaging 15.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals while recording three double-doubles. For the Americans, Stewart and Bueckers rank second and third on the team, respectively, in both minutes and points. Stewart’s 8.3 rebounds are first on the squad as well.

Elsewhere, Gabby Williams is currently the top scorer at the World Cup with 18.7 points per game.

Kelis Fisher didn’t see the court much as a freshman. Despite coming in as the No. 25 recruit in the class of 2025 while being named Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year, the Baltimore native never cracked UConn’s rotation. She appeared in just 30 of 39 contests, averaging 5.7 minutes per outing.

Entering her sophomore season, Fisher is looking to claim a bigger role. She remains one of the team’s most skilled options, but will have to prove that the work she’s put in over the last calendar year has made a difference.
