Through 22 games, Paige Bueckers and Sarah Strong had scored 20+ points a combined 20 times. But on Wednesday night at DePaul, the pair only accounted for 19 points as they each struggled to find their shot. Bueckers went just 2-10 while Strong did a little better at 5-12. It wasn’t the type of performances that UConn has come to expect from the superstars.

That didn’t sink the Huskies, though. Instead, Azzi Fudd and Kaitlyn Chen stepped up in their place with 17 points apiece to lead UConn to an 84-58 victory. They scored the team’s first two baskets on back-to-back 3-pointers, which set the tone the rest of the way.

“I thought they looked like they were really, really aggressive right from the start,” Geno Auriemma said postgame. “That carried over and they just kept at it.”
