Paige Bueckers is ready to be selfish: "Leave nothing up to chance"
After losing to Iowa in the Final Four, Bueckers realized she needed to change her game to have the best shot at a national championship.

Paige Bueckers took full advantage of her time away from UConn this summer. She attended WNBA games across the country, went to the ESPYs in Los Angeles, threw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game, showed up in Coco Gauff’s box at the US Open, and visited New York City for Fashion Week — to name just a few of her stops.
It was truly the Summer of Paige.
“I had a pretty good summer. I enjoyed it,” she said with a laugh. “It was my first healthy offseason where I wasn't in a place rehabbing, staying at school getting stronger. So I took advantage of it.”
It wasn’t just three months of fun, though. As Bueckers gallivanted around the country, she carved out plenty of time for basketball. Everywhere she went, she worked with a different trainer to get ready for the upcoming season, which will be her last at UConn. Bueckers said that getting fresh perspectives from new faces proved beneficial.
