UConn got off to a slow start at Creighton on Sunday and found itself tied 10-10 with 3:41 left in the first quarter. It didn’t matter. The Huskies ran away with the contest during a dominant second quarter and eventually came out with a 95-54 victory.

Somehow, that’s not even their largest-ever victory over the usually-competitive Bluejays. On Jan. 3, 2024, UConn blitzed Creighton 94-50 in Hartford.

Headlines

Slow start: UConn wasn’t particularly sharp in the first quarter. The Huskies committed eight turnovers (more on that later) while the defense looked disorganized at times. They gave up too many uncontested baskets and had a few possessions where they consistently left a player open. Despite those struggles, UConn still led 21-14 after 10 minutes.
