On Saturday, Creighton coach Jim Flanery sat courtside for UConn’s win over Georgetown to scout in preparation for a potential semifinal matchup. He didn’t like what he saw.

“I almost stopped watching because I was not enjoying how good they are,” he laughed about the Huskies after his team’s quarterfinal win over Marquette.

Flanery had a right to be worried. On Sunday, UConn ran over the Bluejays 100-51 in the Big East Tournament semifinals. The Huskies put up their highest point total ever at the Big East Tournament. The trio of Sarah Strong, KK Arnold and Azzi Fudd single-handedly outscored the Bluejays. UConn forced 19 turnovers and only committed eight itself.

“They're really good,” Flanery offered up postgame. “It's easy to say we didn't have a prep, but I don't know that it would have made a difference. There's a big gap between where they are and where we are at this point.”
