Note: The parade was postponed from Saturday to Sunday due to a forecast of rain.

After winning the program’s 12th national championship, UConn women’s basketball will be honored with a victory parade and rally in Hartford on Sunday, Apr. 13, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced.

It’ll begin at 1 p.m. from the State Capitol building at the intersection of Trinity and Elm Street, traveling north through the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch before hanging a right onto Jewell Street and finally turning onto Trumbull Street, where it’ll conclude in front of the XL Center. The rally is expected to kick off around 1:30 p.m.

The city is plenty familiar with hosting parades recently. UConn men’s basketball celebrated in the streets each of the last two years while the two programs have won a combined 18 titles since 1995.

The festivities will be funded exclusively through private donations and sponsorship opportunities.
