In the last decade, UConn has faced Syracuse four times in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Now, the Huskies and Orange will square off in the preseason for the second time in four years. On Thursday, the school announced it’ll play Syracuse on Monday, Oct. 12 as part of the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition at Mohegan Sun Arena.

UConn men’s basketball will also take on Syracuse in the event, though that contest will be a day later on Tuesday, Oct. 13. This is the second straight season the Huskies’ two teams will participate in the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition. In 2025, they both claimed victories over Boston College in a true doubleheader.

"We're excited to once again compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition Game,” Geno Auriemma said in a release. It's a great opportunity for UConn fans to see our men's and women's teams in action against a familiar rival to kick off the 2026-27 season. The Hall of Fame puts together great matchups at Mohegan, and this year will be no exception."

While the game won’t count towards the all-time series, UConn is 41-13 against Syracuse. The schools just saw each other in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, which ended as a 98-45 destruction by the Huskies.

Tickets for the matchup will go on sale on Wednesday, Aug. 12 via Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Arena box office. Tip-time and broadcast information will be announced later.

This is now the seventh date on UConn’s 2026-27 schedule. The Huskies have another exhibition on Oct. 19 against Texas, then also host Iowa on Nov. 8. They’ll head to Michigan on Nov. 5 then take on South Carolina on Nov. 25 (Mohegan Sun Arena), Duke on Nov. 28 (TD Garden) and Maryland on Dec. 5 (Barclays Center).
