UConn’s 2026-27 non-conference slate is loaded, so much so that in June, Geno Auriemma joked that if his team went .500 in non-league play, “that’d would be a good year.”
Now, the Huskies have a chance to measure themselves against top competition without worrying about the result. On Monday, Oct. 19, UConn will host Texas in a preseason exhibition. The venue, tip-time and broadcast information will be revealed at a later date.
The Longhorns are coming off back-to-back Final Four appearances, though they fell in the national semifinal both times. They lost Rori Harmon and Kyla Oldacre to graduation as well as Jordan Lee and Aaliyah Crump to the transfer portal but return two-time All-American Madison Booker.
UConn owns a 10-1 mark all-time against Texas, though Vic Schaefer’s squad scored the last victory with an 80-68 win back on Dec. 3, 2023 in Austin. This game will not count towards the series.
This is the six official date on the Huskies’ non-conference slate. They travel to Michigan on Nov. 5, host Iowa on Nov. 8 then have neutral-site contests with South Carolina on Nov. 25 (Mohegan Sun Arena), Duke on Nov. 28 (TD Garden) and Maryland on Dec. 5 (Barclays Center).
