Bueckers, Wings start season strong

Paige Bueckers had a rough rookie campaign. After an illustrious career with the Huskies, the 2025 No. 1 pick earned Rookie of the Year honors, but her Dallas Wings went 10-34 along the way.
This year, they have a new head coach, added some help via free agency, and drafted Azzi Fudd — so far, it’s working out pretty well.
Bueckers is averaging 20.6 PPG after leading them with 24 points in a win over Chicago Wednesday night as the Wings improved to 3-2 on the season. It took them until June 20 to get their third win last year.
The former Husky star has led her team in scoring for three straight games, while Fudd is making an impact as well. The rookie sat out the season’s second game after a modest debut and scored eight in her first game back. She’s dropped 12 points in each of the last two games, adding three assists in a win over Washington.
Things are looking up for Bueckers, Fudd, and the Wings. They also had Sarah Strong, Kelis Fisher, and Ice Brady visit for a game recently.
