Tip-off times revealed
The start times for UConn’s three exhibition contests as well as its five neutra-site showdowns during the regular season are out.
During the preseason, the Huskies will play Syracuse (Monday, Oct. 12 at Mohegan Sun Arena) at 6:30 p.m. ET, Texas (Monday, Oct. 19 at PeoplesBank Arena) at 7 p.m. ET and Army (Sunday, Oct. 25) at 4 p.m. ET.
Beyond that, UConn’s much-anticipated meeting with South Carolina on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at Mohegan Sun Arena will tip off at 8 p.m. ET while its next game, Duke at TD Garden on Saturday, Nov. 28, will begin at 7 p.m. ET. The Huskies will play Maryland in the Champions Classic at Barclays Center on Saturday, Dec. 5 at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET while they’ll take on Kim Mulkey and LSU at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 from Nashville.
UConn will announce start times and broadcast information for its entire schedule later.
Big East media day on Thursday
On Thursday, the Big East will hold its annual media day in New York City, though it’ll take place in Times Square instead of its usual Madison Square Garden home (thanks to Harry Styles’ residency at the arena). The annual preseason coaches’ poll as well as the preseason honors will be announced in the morning, while Geno Auriemma, Sarah Strong, KK Arnold and Blanca Quiñonez will be in attendance from the Huskies.
Three Huskies earn AP WNBA honors
With the WNBA regular season over, the yearly awards are beginning to roll out. On Sunday, three Huskies earned Associated Press WNBA honors. Breanna Stewart was named to the AP All-First Team while both Paige Bueckers and Gabby Williams were selected to the AP All-Second Team. Meanwhile, Azzi Fudd landed on the AP All-Rookie Team.
