Quick note before we get started: I was away in Ireland for the last 10 days, so naturally a bunch of news came out in that time. I’ll catch up on it before the weekend and send out all the stories you might’ve missed.

While UConn didn’t add anyone through the transfer portal this offseason, it did make one final addition to its 2026-27 roster. On Friday, the Huskies signed Marine Dursus, a 5-10 shooting guard out of Strasbourg, France.
"It's exciting to find players who naturally are blessed with the ability to score," Geno Auriemma said in a release. "I think Marine's greatest assets are she plays exceptionally hard, she's competitive and she's used to playing at a high level. She gives us another scorer, which fills a need for us. We're thrilled that we could add her to our roster."
From 2022-26, Dursus played for Angers in La Boulangère Wonderligue (LBWL), the top league in France, recording 9.9 points on shooting 52.9 percent overall and 41.2 percent from three to go along with 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists this past season. She’s also represented France at the youth level.
Dursus is the 13th member of UConn’s roster and the third freshman, joining Olivia Vukosa and Jovana Popovic. She’ll be the second Husky from France, joining Lou Lopez Sénéchal.
Quiñonez undergoes surgery
After missing eight games across two stints with a shoulder injury as a freshman, Blanca Quiñonez underwent successful surgery at UConn Health on Monday, May 18 to repair a torn labrum in her left shoulder. According to the school, she’s expected to be ready for the 2026-27 season but didn’t elaborate on a timeline for her recovery.
UConn announces series with Iowa
UConn’s 2026-27 non-conference schedule finally has a true home game. On Tuesday, the Huskies announced a home-and-home series with Iowa that’ll begin this upcoming season. UConn will host the Hawkeyes on Nov. 8 (venue TBD) before traveling to Iowa City in 2027-28.
Last season, Iowa earned a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament but was upset in the second round by 10-seed Virginia.
UConn is 7-4 all-time against the Hawkeyes. The Huskies won the most recent matchup, taking a 90-64 victory in the Women’s Champions Classic at Barclays Center in December.
