While UConn didn’t add anyone through the transfer portal this offseason, it did make one final addition to its 2026-27 roster. Last Friday, the Huskies signed Marine Dursus, a 5-10 shooting guard out of Strasbourg, France.
"It's exciting to find players who naturally are blessed with the ability to score," Geno Auriemma said in a release. "I think Marine's greatest assets are she plays exceptionally hard, she's competitive and she's used to playing at a high level. She gives us another scorer, which fills a need for us. We're thrilled that we could add her to our roster."
From 2022-26, Dursus played for Angers in La Boulangère Wonderligue (LBWL), the top league in France, recording 9.9 points on shooting 52.9 percent overall and 41.2 percent from three to go along with 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists this past season.
On the international stage, Dursus has represented France at the youth level since 2021. She helped her team to the 2024 U20 EuroBasket championship, scoring 17 points in the final while earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. She’s also taken home a silver medal at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship and bronze at the 2022 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup and U18 European Championship.
Dursus participated in the NBA’s 2024 Basketball Without Borders Global Women’s Camp in Phoenix, which is the same event where UConn’s coaching staff discovered Blanca Quiñonez. Dursus will be 21 years old for the entirety of her freshman season.
The Huskies’ trend towards international players continues with Dursus. She’ll be the fifth member of the roster from outside the United States, joining Quiñonez (Ecuador), Jana El Alfy (Egypt), Gandy Malou-Mamel (Ireland) and Jovana Popovic (Serbia). Dursus will be the second Husky from France, joining Lou Lopez Sénéchal. Gabby Williams and Bria Hartley have also represented Les Bleues on the international stage.
