UConn women’s basketball finished its European tour with an 85-66 win over Pecs in Murano, Italy on Wednesday. The Huskies went 4-0 overseas, winning by an average margin of 45.5 points.
Note: The following is based solely off the box score.
Starters: Nika Mühl, Azzi Fudd, Qadence Samuels, Aubrey Griffin, Aaliyah Edwards
Caroline Ducharme did not play after an incident sidelined her for the remainder of Monday’s game, so Qadence Samuels replaced her — which is also what happened in the second game of the tour.
Amari DeBerry returns
After sitting out UConn’s first three games in Europe, DeBerry played in the team’s final game. The junior had back surgery in May and wasn’t expected to play on the trip, only for her to make a surprise appearance on Wednesday. DeBerry ended up with two points and two rebounds. The box score did not include minutes played so it’s hard to know exactly how much time she got, but it seems her minutes were limited.

Statline stars
Azzi Fudd: In UConn’s tightest game of the trip — it led by just three at the half — Fudd carried the load with 24 points on 9-31 shooting. She also attempted 22 3-pointers, but made just six (27.3 percent).
Nika Mühl: While Mühl has been relatively quiet over these four games, she finished strong with eight points, six assists, five rebounds and no turnovers on Wednesday.
Aubrey Griffin: The fifth-year capped off the overseas slate with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals. She’s arguably been the Huskies’ most consistently player in Europe.
Aaliyah Edwards: Edwards had a 12-point, 8-rebound day while shooting 6-of-9. A solid effort.
Qadence Samuels: For the attention that’s been given to Samuels’ shooting ability, she doesn’t live and die by the three. She had six points despite going 0-3 from beyond the arc and also grabbed six rebounds, two assists and one block.
Ashlynn Shade: The freshman put in the work on the defensive side of the ball. Despite failing to score, she still grabbed four rebounds and four steals.
