In the first of the Big East’s postseason awards, Azzi Fudd took home Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Alongside the hardware, she’ll receive a $2,000 stipend towards graduate or professional studies.

Fudd is currently getting her master’s degree in business administration after receiving her bachelor’s degree in communications. She landed on the Big East All-Academic Team four times and the Director of Athletics’ Honor Roll on eight occasions. Across her academic career, Fudd has earned a 3.570 grade-point average.

She is the ninth Husky to win Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year, joining Leigh Curl (1984-85), Wendy Davis (1991-92), Rebecca Lobo (1993-95), Jennifer Rizzotti (1995-96), Maya Moore (2009-11), Paige Bueckers (2023-24) and Azzi Fudd (2025-26).

The rest of the Big East awards will be released on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.

UConn finishes regular season with perfect record

After beating St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, UConn completed its 11th undefeated regular season in program history. The Huskies have gone on to win the national championship six times, lost in the Big East Tournament but still won it all in 2003, then came up short in 1997, 2017 and 2018.

UConn also went unbeaten in conference play for the third straight season and 13th time overall.

UConn will begin a three-game series with Duke, which kicks off next season at TD Garden in Boston on Nov. 28, 2026. The Huskies will travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium the following season before hosting the Blue Devils in 2028-29.

The middle contest will serve as the homecoming for Sarah Strong, a native of Durham, North Carolina — where Duke is located. The sophomore superstar also has a connection to the game at TD Garden: Her mother, Allison Feaster, works as the Boston Celtics’ Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth.
